There is no cut and dried definition of adventure, for the taste for adventure comes from within. For some, adventure is climbing the highest mountain; for others it is just venturing beyond the bounds of their own country. Regardless of your own threshold for adventure, one thing is for sure, adventure removes you from the staid, routine patterns of our daily lives.In travel, adventure is the search for and a return to the essentials of travel. It’s getting back to basics. It requires a philosophical attitude of mind and openness to the unexpected. Adventure travel is the feel of the tropical sun on your back, the invigoration of a good day hike, or the awe of a mountain sunrise on the equator. Adventure is the sense of achievement you have, as you accomplish a challenging activity or journey.

For those whose daily lives involve hard work, stress and mental challenge, adventure travel is the ultimate cure to the ‘grind’. Adventure changes your mental gears to the task at hand, whether it is sea kayaking along a coast or cycling from Inn to Inn, with no time or inclination to think about the stressful job you left behind.  Adventure travel, is always different, with varying scenery, culture, history, accommodation and activities. No holiday can be as rejuvenating and refreshing as a completely new environment incorporating new and different mental or physical challenges.

A warning to those wanting a taste of overseas adventure. It will never be the same as home.

Her most recent biking adventures have taken her along the Georgia O’Keefe trail in New Mexico and the Draa and Dades Valleys in Morocco. She looks forward to assisting you with your next adventure. Dianne Cook. – Dianne passion for travel shows in her passport which contains stamps from Australia, Hong Kong, South East Asia, Central America, Mexico, Cuba, Turkey and a few others collected while backpacking through Europe.
