The Loire, France's longest river, glides peacefully between the grand chateaux and vineyards that line its banks. This is the historic heart of France, its Valley of the Kings. With so many chateaux and historic sites to visit, so many wines to enjoy and fine meals to partake of, the pace of our walks is leisurely, like the gentle undulating terrain of the region.
A leisurely walk for food and wine enthusiasts! Burgundy is set between the majestic rivers of the Saone and the Loire and is an uncrowded region of rolling hills and forests of beech and oak. Its famous vineyards produce some of the best French wines including Chablis, Beaune, and Nuits St George. Come and discover a fabled land of medieval chateaux, ancient monasteries and fragrant breezes where the art of living is pursued to near perfection at a gentle unhurried pace.
Alsace is a green and mountainous corridor wedged between Lorraine on the west, Germany to the north and east and Switzerland to the south. The main town of the region is Colmar, with carved and painted houses and an old Venetian quarter. This is a delightful walk through the foothills of the Vosges mountains.
This fertile green valley is a land with "un peu de tout", as the French say, a little of everything; the gently meandering Dordogne river, lush pastures, wine, walnuts, geese for foie gras and confit ... and the warm southern sun. This walk begins in Sarrazac crossing through rolling farmland and woodland paths before descending to the charming village of Carennac where our 8-day walk ends.
Wandering in Provence - France This excellent route follows a portion of the GR4, a long distance trail which crosses France from the Cote d'Azur to the Atlantic. As we walk from the rugged Alpine terrain around the Grand Canyon du Verdon to the more open cultivated landscape of the Plateau de Valensole, we are following the steps of the ancient Roman legionaries. This is an ideal tour for spring or autumn as the summer months can be hot.

Around
Mont Blanc - France
Our walks through the gentle landscape of Tuscany take us through a countryside that is timeless. Tuscany is a region well suited to a walking pace and offers some of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe with their Romanesque churches and buildings. We walk through a varied countryside of rolling hillsides, vineyards, olive groves and forests. Tuscany offers many gastronomic delights: pecorino cheese, wild boar dishes and porcini mushrooms. And need we remind you, it is also Chianti wine country.
Apart from the famous cities of Perugia and Assisi, Umbria boasts many small mediaeval towns, some dating back to Etruscan times, where traditional crafts still flourish, and some wonderfully idyllic landscape. Many places in the region are known for their wines, notably Orvieto. Other produce of the land includes olive oil, fine cheeses and honey. A fantastic trip for those who appreciate the charm of traditional Italian cooking and wine.
Still in Tuscany, but a world away are the Apuan Alps. In this remote, wild and totally unsophisticated area, you will experience a mountain wilderness, superb scenery, and tranquillity. This trek has many attractive ingredients, from wide Mediterranean vistas, to remote hamlets, to wild and dramatic mountain scenery.
La Gomera is a relaxed, unsophisticated island with a population of just 16,000 people living mostly in the capital, San Sebastian, or the villages of the north. If you want the feeling of being alone with nature, then this is the place to be. Due to its volcanic origins, the island's scenery is dramatic, mountainous, very beautiful and different from anywhere in Europe. Average winter temperature is 18 C and summer 24 C, making this a year around destination.
Still little known to tourists and running parallel to the NW coast of the island of Majorca is the Sierra de Tramontana, a majestic mountain range with peaks of limestone, up to 1,370 m (4,500 ft). Our route takes you to two of the highest peaks: El Teix (1,063 m) via the 'Archduke's walk' above Valledemossa, and from Lluc Monastery up to Massanella Peak (1,351 m). On lower slopes and coastlines, elegant farmsteads preside over terraces of olive, almond and orange groves.
This tour takes you to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and to the range of mountains known as the Alpujarras. The area is of outstanding natural beauty and ecological diversity and it is not hard to imagine that seven hundred years ago this was the fabled promised land of the Moors. We follow an "off the beaten path" route that recaptures that feeling of reaching the real hidden Spain. This trip will enchant anyone who enjoys outdoor life and wishes to holiday in an area unspoiled by tourism.
Wildstrubel Circuit - Switzerland Starting and finishing in the quintessential Swiss Alpine village of Kandersteg, this classic 7 day circuit includes part of the famous Alpine Pass route. Before the construction of the Loetschberg rail tunnel, it was the only direct link between the German-speaking Bernese Oberland and the French-speaking Valais. All the way you will enjoy the flower-strewn meadows with gentians and orchids, lumbering cattle with sonorous bells and tempting wayside cafes.

Alpine Pass Route - Switzerland There can be few greater pleasures in life than a journey through the mountain landscape of Switzerland. Each pass gained brings with it a sense of achievement and is rewarded with a magnificent panorama as the mountains unveil their secrets. The names of the peaks in this area read like a history of mountain achievement: The Eiger, Matterhorn, Jungfrau, Monch and, highest of them all, Mont Blanc.

A challenging wilderness of dramatic 2600 m/8000 ft peaks, deep chasms, and extensive natural forests, the Pindos is still home to wolf, lynx, bear and wild boar. While the signposts will be Greek, our local representative has prepared an easy to follow self- guided route through this beautiful region.
